Little Quince is going to a wildlife rehabilitation farm. He's a little chick that was hatched from egg #15, two doors down the hall at school. He had trouble getting out of his shell yesterday and didn't look very good when I left to go home, but I was whispering words of encouragement to him, and (yes) I prayed for him before I went to sleep ( Read more... )

Cute! My mom hatched baby chicks when she taught kindergarten. What is the deal? Do all teachers incubate poultry?

This was my very first experience with poultry in the schools... I loved it! I had the duck take pictures of me and Quince on his cell phone... hopefully we'll figure out how to get them to the computer. :)

Thanks, Peter! In a strange twist which I will write about later, I got to see Quince at the farm, and it turns out Quince is a GIRL!! She looked great. :) :)
