Today at work two guys were standing around talking about how great the Jackass and American Pie movies are. I was trying to keep my head down, but someone had to ask me if I'd seen them, which led to me saying no, which led to them asking why, which led to me having to explain why I don't like those movies, which made me a lesser man than them. I hear your pain, buddy. I had to blow my friend off for a weekend just to avoid seeing Jackass Two so I could see The Departed and the Science of Sleep instead.

I don't think it takes a brain surgeon to figure out the difference between Ingrid and Ingmar.

I'm gonna be home this week, let's get together and exchange Christmas presents or what have you.

Also, whoever that was above reminded me of what a crashing disappointment the science of sleep was.

Also, this is nitpicky, but your use of the terms "director's cut" and "abridged american version" in regards to brazil are misleading, as the so-called director's cut is the theatrical cut and the "abridged american version" was the studio's failed attempt to edit it themselves, which never showed in theatres and is included only as a curio.

Yes, but I thought I'd read that the studio cut was aired on American television and is therefore associated as the "American" version. But anyway, the point was that the people I work with don't care about things like this, and that they happen to represent the majority of moviegoers in terms of likes and dislikes, and it's fucking scary.
