Yay!!! My exceeedingly talented and very close friend Ranjit finally has an etsy shop. It's about time. His work has been displayed all over the damn place, recently and notably in a solo art exhibit for the MTA with gigantic lightboxes in the Atlantic subway station in Brooklyn. 1. Jon is leaving Sunday for a ten-day family trip for his dad's birthday, that I couldn't make because I can't take ten days from work. Also, I love his small siblings with all my heart, but I can't picture taking nearly my whole vacation time for the year to spend a lot of time watching two children still in their single digits. Yesterday it was back up to the Cloisters for experiment #2 with my Through the Viewfinder photography. I brought a clever new contrapcion with screws and a wood handle and also my muses Jon and Lauren. This experiment worked *much* better - sadly, it started pouring rain after we'd been there for 20 minutes or so, so some of my favorite shots ( Read more... )

My first experiment with Through the Viewfinder photography was fair to middling. They're very grainy and the resolution is for crap, but they're pretty at least. Too much light got in. I'll do better next time.

I used a Duaflex and my handy old manual SLR.
