I'm sorry you've had such a hard time with it all, but glad that you are better (honestly, even if there is a slight selfish component here in the hope that you will provide us with more of this compelling story).

Thanks so much. I almost didn't post all that, but I figured you guys deserved some sort of explanation. Especially when I say it's all written as a rough draft and then rarely post. I can see how that would be really frustrating for readers. Well, it's been frustrating for me too.

So I'm really happy you're still reading and very hopeful that the next update will only be a short wait!

I felt Linus reach for my hand, his other one wrapped in Simon’s. I took it and we walked along the deck, all linked together. Maybe all good things were scary.

I love this line as the end of this chapter. It's a great line, and a good place to pause.

Excellent chapter, and I'm loving discovering these characters along with Petra.

Thanks! I played around with the end quite a bit. I wanted to get the point across without using a cliche. I'm really glad you found it moving!

Yay, an new installment! And I've never had a chapter dedicated to me so I'm quite honored, thanks! I love this story and it was great to get to meet Linus, he definitely is a sweet kid. I could totally see Petra (I almost typed Kara there, Freudian slip) just waltzing right in and feeding Alexi those lines with a totally straight face - like mother, like daughter. You capture her so well. I'm really looking forward to future interactions between Petra and Lee...please? :)

I hope things in RL continue to look up for you. Hang in there...it's good to hear that you're enjoying writing again - it shows!

Scheming Petra is one of my favorite things to write. And yes, there will be Petra and Lee interaction later. Lots of drama there!

Just piping up to add to the chorus that's glad to see more of this fic!

As a reader, yeh it is a little frustrating because I just want more more more (I am greedy!) However, as a writer I know *exactly* what you mean. *looks mournfully at own next-chapter-of-fic that won't get done no matter how I try*

I loved the description of the gravity change. It's stuff like that that makes it so *real*. And this line:

Planets, they said, were round, like a ring ship. Would Earth be like this, always feeling like you were poised at the top of a very gradual hill? It hadn’t seemed that way in pictures, but it was hard to say.

gave me shivers. Because it's so easy to forget that Petra (and all these kids) have never set foot on a planet before. Wow.

Thanks. I almost didn't keep the scientific parts, cause I thought they might be too technical, but it seemed to illustrate just how comfortable these kids are in space, and, as you said, that they've never set foot on a planet. Which brings up the question: what will happen when they do?
