October 1st is as good a time as any to update.

I just got back from visiting Jordi, a friend of mine who was at Rutgers with me as an exchange student from Barcelona. He's since gotten his doctorate and was a visiting professor in Classics at Columbia for these past six months or so. Through midday Jordi was working; so I wandered around. I'm a little over half-way done with the last seminar paper I'll have to write as a graduate student. I had put it off at the end of the Spring semester because too much else was going on, what with the move, my other classes, and the professor's willingness to take the paper later in the summer. I've just finished TAing for the Greek Intensive course this summer. The class met, or at least my half of it, from 8:30-2:30 every day for 5 weeks. A professor would teach one half the day and I the other. I've been especially out of touch primarily because of that. It was a rewarding experience although unexpectedly exhausting. For those of you who keep up with these things, I've just passed my Greek translation exam. This (D, note the substantival demonstrative! Take that Arturo!) means that I'm essentially done with classes. I have two minor exams to complete this summer but I'm finished. Soon I can begin the finishing process and be done with graduate school.

I haven't really kept up with livejournal for awhile now. Since I've got to clean the apartment, get to work on my philosophy of language paper, and write an abstract for a conference, I figured I'd pen one of my fashionably infrequent updates.
