Teacher Work Day
Today was a teacher work day at my school. I always take a vacation day on Teacher Work Days. Imagine my disappointment to discover that THIS TWD I was expected to attend a workshop. Who ever heard of having to WORK on a teacher work day? -

Another Week in the Jar.
One more week down 11 more to go till Spring Break. After that, End of Grade Testing is right around the corner. Not a lot of time to turn whiny 8th graders into high school freshmen. I think one of my old secret crushes has died. Steve was a year ahead of me, played the trumpet in band and was as sweet as any young man you would ever wish to meet. Back in the Groove
Today was a good day. I was back in the classroom with my students today and life was good. It really helps when I am reminded by my kids just why it is that I do what I do. It isn't ALL about the Winter, Spring and Summer breaks...it's a big part, but not the whole Shebang! -
Back To School! (22 degrees)

Christmas Break Rant
This has been one Sucky Christmas Break! I feel cheated! I had to shop the whole first week of my break, missed Christmas Day with my family because some of them were too sick to play, then I missed the Christmas Day Do-Over because I was too sick to play. Update and New Years
Did not get a Christmas Do-Over. I caught the dreaded Cain Christmas Curse and spent the Christmas Make-up Day flat on my back with no will to party. I did recover at last and have been able to enjoy the very thoughtful loot that my family bestowed upon me. Merry Christmas to me ( Read more... )
