Title: "Pirate Queen" Author:luvvycat Characters: Jack Sparrow, The Black Pearl Rating: G potc100 Prompt: Sail Word count: 100 Disclaimer: PotC is Disney's, not mine. *sniff*
What's not to love? Jack's not been, by nature, a faithful man when it comes to women, but his unflagging devotion to the Pearl is constant, and a very endearing aspect of the character.
And his plans to acquire the sails as a gift to her are just so Jack.
Absolutely! There's nothing Jack wouldn't do for his Pearl, and taking pride in her appearance is part and parcel of that!
Thank you so much for reading, and taking the time to Comment! :-)
Believe me, it's great to be able to write again! On top of it being the anniversary month of my dad's passing, we lost two of our pet cats to cancer in February, so the resulting depression just totally took the wind out of my sails, writing-wise. I've gotten next to nothing done on the fanfic front over the past two months! :-(
What a fantastic moment in the movie. Even before we're told, we get that vibe that ship means something to Jack and then, boy do we find out just how much.
Indeed, Jack's devotion to the Black Pearl has become such an important part of the PotC universe, the constant, unbreakable thread that runs through all four films. It goes beyond mere possessiveness ... he absolutely NEEDS her to be complete.
"Clad in patches like a lowly strumpet..."--Well, goes to show that there is a difference in how Jack and Barbossa treat a lady!I think comparing the way Jack and Barbossa treat Elizabeth in CotBP sort of parallels these

Ah, the vision of Jack gifting The Pearl with the new outfit is lovely.
Thank you! Of course, Jack takes great pride in his "best girl" and would want her to look her best! ;-)
And the ending immediately brings Lizzie to mind... ;-D
Yes, Elizabeth was utterly thrilled with Weatherby's gift ... until she discovered that in order to wear it, she had to forgo certain vital functions (like breathing...) ;-D
Thank you so much for reading, and Commenting! :-)
That was gorgeous! ♥ The idea & the writing itself...Beautiful drabble!
Oh, thank you so much! :-)
"He resolved, upon their joyous reunion, to replace her tattered sails with the best he could buy, beg, borrow, or steal." - Loved this sentence.
You know what they say about absence making the heart grow fonder, and I think Jack would make a point of welcoming his Pearl "home" by spoiling her and lavishing her with gifts. And one of the things I love about Jack is that, no matter how long they'd been separated, he never seemed to give up on the certainty that he WOULD get the Pearl back. :-)
Thank you so much for reading, and for the kind compliments! They're very much appreciated! :-)

Pirate he may be, but Jack knows how to treat a lady.
Indeed he does! Right up to the moment he steals her jewellery (or her fishing boat)! ;-)
