Title: "Entrapped" Author:luvvycat Characters: Jack Sparrow/Elizabeth Swann Rating: PG13 BPS Prompt(s): Gullible, Next Time, and Innocent/Innocence Word count: 100 Disclaimer: PotC is Disney's, not mine. *sniff*
Ah, the classic "I can never stay mad at you' syndrome.
Though I'm sure he tried his darnedest. He certainly had cause enough, after what she did to him. Even so, upon their reunion, it seems the best he could muster was a bit of snarkiness: hardly the rage one would expect of someone confronting his murderer.
Jack'd probably prefer to think he was immune to it, but...
No doubt about it, Lizzie is Jack's Achilles' heel! (But love will do that to a man eh?) ;-)
Thank you so much for reading, and Commenting! :-)
Aw, while I can totally understand Jack's anger, this is so adorable in a very POTC way. Just shows how bad he's got it for her. Your way with words as always astounds me, "doe-eyed trickery, like some gullible, love-starved, cock-teased whelp..." I can hear it. I feel the rhythm to it. And of course even in these circumstances he calls her Lizzie.

LOL! Jack's snits do tend to be adorable (or, at the very least, entertaining). ;-)

Elizabeth DOES seem to be his major weakness. Since we know how dead-serious Jack is when he's REALLY got a bone to pick with someone (think Barbossa!), the fact that he still can't seem to resist coming to Lizzie's rescue, after everything, has GOT to be love, hasn't it? ;-)

Wow! Thank you! I attribute it all to the voices in my head (mostly Jack's) when I'm writing. ;-D
As ever, many thanks for taking the time to read, and leave a Comment! :-)
Jack's theme song: You shake my nerves and you rattle my brain . Your kind of love drives a man insane. (stolen from Jerry Lee)
Okay, first, hurray you're home! (meaning here!) And I'm happy! pleased, tickled and generally yehawed over this lovely turn. So secondly Quote the whole story!!!!Damn, child, this is just wondermus. I like it cos it's that bittersweet that always always always snags my heart and makes me want more and more. Plus it sounds just like one of Jack's hissy fit conversations with himself, which he would of course be having with regarding the Miz Swann, all sweet of lip and full of vinegar.
You done good! No doubt about it. Love Jack all grumpasaurus, but hey even much more better when he's giving over to his sweet thoughts thinking. You've provided a lovely surprize this evening. Thank you muchly dear miz cat! And so joyful that you're home!

LOL! Do you think Jerry Lee knew Elizabeth in a previous life? ;-)
She certainly does have that kind of "vexing" effect on Jack (as Tia Dalma so astutely perceived)!

Nice to be back. I'm hoping this a sign the rough seas are settling down at last (and it's not just a temporary calm). :-)

Thanks! A lot of times to get to the sweet, you've got to go through the bitter. I think Jack's finding that out, in spades! ;-)

Oh, this was great, a perfect summation of Jack's conflicted self. I expect he spent a considerable portion of his time in the Locker arguing with himselves over this point.

And, boy, where J/E is concerned, there certainly is conflict (on both sides)! Talk about fighting one's feelings: I think they're both guilty of it! :-)
But, yes, at this moment, I think Jack truly is conflcted: he wants to hate Elizabeth for what she's done (though he DOES understand why she did it), because it would be a helluva lot easier for him if he DID hate her, but she's gotten so completely under his skin, he just can't. He still wants her, despite everything.

I'm sure you're right! At least with so many other (albeit hallucinatory) Jack's around, if he feels like kicking himself (and I'm sure he does!), he's got plenty of targets for his boot! ;-)
Thank you so much for reading, and Commenting! I'm so glad you enjoyed the drabble!
lol! That must be exactly what Jack was contemplating for all this time in the Locker that wasn't shown on screen ^^
I'd like to think that Elizabeth would (naturally) by uppermost in his mind, for many reasons (and I'm fairly sure some of the things Jack was contemplating couldn't be shown on screen -- being a Disney movie, and all)! ;-)
Awesome drabble! I loved it! :)
