Title: "Fugitive's Freedom" Author:luvvycat Characters: Elizabeth Swann Rating: G Prompt(s): Hammock, Antipathy and Insipid Word count: 100 Disclaimer: PotC is Disney's, not mine. *sniff*
Aye, along with all her anxiety about Will, Liz must've experienced a certain exhilaration at casting off all her moorings like that. A pirate's life for her!
Aye, along with all her anxiety about Will, Liz must've experienced a certain exhilaration at casting off all her moorings like that.
In spite of the circumstances, she DID seem to be enjoying herself. She looked awfully at ease in those scenes on the Trader, very much "at home", you might say! Quite in her element, in fact! ;-)
A pirate's life for her!
Absolutely! As Tia Dalma might have said, "a touch of destiny..." in those words (or, perhaps, given what awaited Lizzie in AWE, "be careful what you wish for..."?). ;-)
Yes, well ... you know what they say about birds & stones. Nothing like putting that adage into practise, eh?
and so very Elizabeth, too.... She doesn't seem like the sort that would be content to sit back and let life happen to her.
No, definitely not that sort! No shrinking violet, is our Lizzie! And it seems apparent, from the scenes on the Trader and in Tortuga, that Elizabeth was quite enjoying herself those days, despite the events that caused her to go on the run.
Great work.
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you liked the drabble, and appreciate (as ever!) your taking the time to read and Comment! :-)
I LOVE this image of Elizabeth. It's so cinematic.
Wow! Thanks! :-)
You managed to endow this image of her laying in her hammock, thinking, with so much meaning and all the wonderful, in-character undertones!
I'm SO pleased that you think so! Sometimes, it's fun to sort of let the character get into your head, or rather (as in this case) for you to get into their head! ;-)
Fantastic drabble :)
Thank you so much! As ever, I'm so glad you enjoyed it, and took the time to read and leave such kind Comments.

Though concerned about her father and Will, and bone-weary from a day’s hard labour, her spirits were high.
It's a good point for Elizabeth. She doesn't seem like the sort that would be content to sit back and let life happen to her.
