The privacy furor over Google Buzz demonstrates the social ineptitude of the minds behind Facebook, Google and other companies trying to be a social-networking site. They can be brilliant programmers, but they will never understand human psychology.

buzz pisses me off so much. did you read the article in gizmodo about how buzz made it so much easier for her abusive ex-boyfriend to get in touch with her?

Yes, I read that. It puts into perspective what a repellent thing Google did. Social networking sites can't even begin to capture the range of human relationships; Google made the most extreme generalization possible.
