Returning to real life after WOWps doesn't get any more real than this. I am reposting this message about the death of Anne Marie Marra from Barbara Wenglin, the librarian in charge (with Zork) of the White Plains slam. Thank you so much. lv_prosewriter March 27 2009, 02:01:08 UTC
It has been a shock. I was able to make the funeral Monday, but Zork was still in Detroit working for Steve Marsh.

I am glad people will remember her as you all are describing here. It is so true and she deserves that legacy.

Ditto all you say. lv_prosewriter March 27 2009, 02:05:43 UTC
She would really want to be remembered this way. There are many unanswered questions and they may never be. I am a better person for having known her and it aches to be saying such a thing about Anne Marie. I keep having the surreal feeling of thinking I had better add her to the email blast about this.

I am so sorry. She was such a spunk hearted sugar dumpling. Blessings to her and the many families she is a part of.

Thank you, thank you. What a perfect description of her.

Do you know that in Madison she arranged for us to perform for some of the hotel staff during their lunch hour? She was just like that. She even repeated a poem for a staff member who asked her to redo it for another colleague who missed part of the set.

Thank you-- we need it. lv_prosewriter March 27 2009, 02:11:47 UTC
Especially James Joseph. The world needs more love. Us too. She gave so much, maybe more than she received.

She was one of those people that just make me smile all over. I remember talking to her about her "awesome name" (Grin) and how much I liked her piece when she was out here once (I think it was a North Beast slam, maybe last year?). I remember seeing her in Madison and it was like seeing a long-lost friend.

She will be missed very much.

She loved the whole slam family. This was a hard post to make, but I wanted people to know.
