My very first love from high school died his senior/my junior year of high school in a car accident. I remember the pain I felt to this day and can only imagine how you feel. I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm glad you both found some peace in your situation before it was too late.
Your writing about grief is so moving and evocatively expressed it makes me hurt for you. I wish there were fewer reasons these days for you to be feeling it. So sorry, Alex.
Little Trevor/Tirik (both suit him, in my mind) gets kisses from everyone he meets. He is the sweetest. I will be sure to give him some on your behalf.
that's such a gentle way to put it; thank you for those words.
it has been two months of deep loss, but i try not to cluster them all in my head because each loss represents a particular being who i loved in a particular way.
that and if i think about losing rosie and joe in the past two months, i am too overwhelmed to remember how grateful i am to have had both of them in my life.
But I'm also very glad that you have such visceral memories of Joe to hold close to your heart.
A lesson I learned on my birthday, as I rode a train through the desert is that when life brings us into the desert, it is rarely a place we will stay. Deserts are only traveling-through spaces.
