I made a first trip to Lowe’s (a big hardware store). The last owners took down the vertical blinds on the sliding glass door. I noticed there was a part missing, so to Lowe’s. The pipe laying circus has moved to my street. There’s a pile of gravel taller than me. There are four large trucks, scoopers and pushers in our narrow cul-de-sac. There are trenches, filled and not filled with gravel. There is beeping. A neighbor obviously goes all out decorationwise. Lights in all the windows and a Snowman family (Kevin and Kim Snowman, nee Blizzard and young Charlie Snowman). All very jolly. I bought a couple of small strings of outdoor colored lights, battery operated. I am strangely excited about it because I never had outdoor lights before. I’ll drape them along the bushes in front of the house. They can be timed so as to go on for seven hours, say 4 to 11. Cheery. After Thanksgiving, I think ( Read more... ) -

I made the first trip to a new grocery store, Fred Meyer. Went up and down the aisles to see what’s up with them. Got a member card. My wallet is loaded with new cards for new and exotic places. Got cat treats and I decided I’m going to make butterscotch pudding for Thanksgiving, because I really like it. Thinking of putting it in a pie crust. ( Read more... ) -

I’ve had to speak to a few people around here, neighbors and such, (I am constitutionally not made to talk to people) and the question they always ask, after establishing our names, is: you have relatives up here? I got a haircut. It's a boy cut, the kind a 12 yr old gets for school picture day. I am neat in the head.
I found and went into Trader Joe's. It was very busy and probably will be until after the holidays. Impulse buying happened. -

I’ve gotten out some of the Christmas decorations to cheer myself up. This year I have plenty of room to spread them around. One of the cats likes to dive bomb the shelf they’re on and grab one or two to carry around. They’re just things I’ve collected over the years, couldn’t tell you where from.
