I'm coming out of the wilds of life with a reminder, because I think it might be relevant in the next few days.

A collegue just walked into my office.

It's been a while.  For those of you who read locked posts/chatted in person/heard the gossip, you know it's been a crazy year.  For the rest of you... "crazy" doesn't really begin to cover it.

In talking about Friday the 13th and superstitions...

Colleague: "I'm not superstitious." [She's not.]

Me: "Me, neither, especially if I know why the superstition exists."

Colleague: "But you say 'Don't tempt fate."

Me: Well, yeah.  That one's been proven right. A lot."

First part of the day - meh.  The coworker I've been replacing is well on her way to full recovery and back at work (yay!), so that's the end of the private office, the new challenge, the extra money, and the awesome me-replacement (*sniffly pouting*).

I discovered yesterday that while I was out of town, my dad was playing with our magnetic poetry (we have three sets up: history?, museum, and troll).

I am inexpressibly delighted by this.

Picture it: lunch at The Royal Oak, two women and a toddler.

As we were waiting for the bill after a perfectly lovely meal, in a moment of supreme klutziness, I spilled what was left of my pepsi. In the scramble of grabbing napkins and attempting to contain the spill, M's elbow caught her water glass, adding to the mess.
