BT Broadband is ADSL, you'll need to find out if your line supports it. There's probably a postcode checker on the BT website.

Done that, it doesn't say we can't have it- it just says that the possible maximum speed is likely to be 6.5mb for our phone line. I take it if it's calculated the speed then it's possible to get it? I know it's just a rough estimate, anyway.
Also, i take it you still pay line rental, otherwise it would be a bargain i guess

Yeah you still pay line rental, about £10 a month, it's pretty cheap, and worth it to not be on 56k.

If you have an Orange phone on contract you can get free broadband, apparently.

It's similar to the talktalk plan but they are what used to be Freeserve who I trust more than most

Bah, no orange phones here :( Though i do want to change my mobile but it's not for another 6 months! Eeek. Have you heard anything about BT? Or are they generally thought to be expensive? Thanks for the help :)

BT are actually pretty reasonable.

If you go witht he big 3 (AOL, freeserve, BT) you're pretty much guaranteed a decent service, and you don't always have to install all the funky software as in the olden days - I'm using AOL here without any problems at all

I don't think it is anymore, that was just a short term offer.
