Update and future plans?

So things have been pretty stressful over here for the past few weeks. I’m busting my ass to try and finish my thesis by August, which has proven exceptionally difficult due to a number of unforeseen technical difficulties that have been, and continue to, arise as I try to analyze my data. Despite having most of the thesis written, I’ve still got a ( Read more... )

I know this might not be great but has Mark ever considered working as a flight attendant? A few companies are hiring, and one such company is based in SLC :)

Wow....
Sorry to hear about all that, your stress level must be insanely high >.<

*hug* It's ok buddy. Technically if you think about moving to Africa, it's the right time. Economic crisis, dollar being a bit low, etc.... plane tickets around here have never been that cheap. I really hope you'll get that job, it would be awesome, wouldn't it? :)

I hope you guys manage to work something out.

But TBH I'd seriously advise you against having anything to do with Zimbabwe. The country's been completely and utterly trashed by a couple of decades of Robert Mugabe (who makes Fidel Castro look like a saint by comparison). I currently work with a couple of ex-Zimbabweans who were fortunate enough to be able to get out before the random politically-driven beatings-and-killings started.

Good to hear from you. Sorry about the struggles, that disease is running pretty rampant right now. I'd encourage looking into the internships. You might already be overqualified for jobs right now, getting more education is not likely to help much in the next decade, unless you are set up to create a company on your own. The unemployment situation is too close to home for me these days. I miss you guys! I'll send anything I find your way.

As someone who is 'employed', I still find my dreams being put on hold due to the this current job market. My initial plan was to put in 2-3 years at MIT doing entry level tech support, and then move on to something bigger and better. I insisted on doing 2 years here, even though I was ready to leave shortly after 1 year. I wanted to show that I was the kind of worker that could be counted on for long stretches and not someone who was just hopping from job to job ( ... )
