As bad ass as Raphael is, and as much as I respect the Sai, I don't know if it's really for me or not. I like weapons that are a little less ninja and a little more... mean :P

I thought about those, actually, and as devastating as those weapons can be in the hands of someone proficient in them, I don't know if they really match my style or not... I'm looking for something a little more fighter or barbarian like :P

Actually, double battle axes (about 17.5 pounds each) are on my shortlist of weapons I'm considering.

How about a Pole axe of some kind? there are virtually limitless styles... with really the same mechanics for all. I like the battle axes. I still like the spear Idea too. The spear has a lot of history with it, it is the oldest and truest of weapons (battle and hunting). I feel it personifies the art of battle in general. However if your going for 'practical'... The Knife must be on your list.

I thought about doing a halberd, but I was just informed that we have to keep the weapons Chinese or... something else that eludes me at the moment, so most of the awesome poleaxes are excluded. I thought about the Kwan-Do as well, but I'm not sure if it's really the most practical

Kukris are my Favorite. They are Great for throwing as well, if you have a bigger build. I think your height will suffice:p Chinese weapons eh? I might have to think on that a bit, eastern culture is all exotic to me. They do have some pole axes though... I think I've seen some with a L shaped blade. I'll have to look that up.
