For the longest time I didn’t believe in love. It was this broken concept- people “fall in love” and then in the end just…give up? I told myself I would never give up when I found that true love, if it even existed. I’d give and I’d give, but I’d never let go. I’d give it my all.

Unfortunately, life doesn’t always go the way things plan. My parent ( Read more... )

Good for you Sweetie! Love is a bitch and we're powerless against it.

Good for you for not letting this get you down and moving on and knowing that it wasn't your fault. A lot of people have a hard time doing that.

It took me a long time too. This was all over a 2 year time span before I finally let go. I know people who continue to stay in abusive relationships like that. And by the time they figure out that they are in that situation, their self esteem is so low that they don't know how to get out that situation.

Even if it took you a while-- still, you did it. And that is something to be proud of!

Wow, that would be a major blow! I can understand why you'd rather break up the relationship in the end after discovering the drug issues though.

Thanks for the transcription, it helps as I have a real hard time hearing voice posts, and with my being deaf, it si difficult.

HUGS!!!!

Well, then I'm glad I put in the transcription! :)

We didn't just break up over the drugs. It was the lying. He would say he stopped and then keep doing them. Eventually, the fighting got so bad, and we ended up breaking up.

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is something for yourself. Especially if it might hurt someone else. It takes a lot of strength to realize that.

Also, I love that you did this as a voice post and a written post. :)

Thanks, I wanted something different :).

I think the ultimate hardest thing to do is just love yourself. It was seriously the hardest thing for me to do.

I don't want to be number one. I want to just be up in the running. Drugs shouldn't come before me. Video games shouldn't come before me. Sports shouldn't come before me unless it's professional or you're on a team. However, family and friends and schoolwork, that SHOULD come before me.
