Oh, my goodness, they're crawling now! Congratulations to the mother of the crawling babies! And to the babies themselves, although I'm just another big human they don't know.
Hope you're doing well, getting maybe a little sleep and making a lot of memories.
Well, my girl is crawling. My boy is slightly behind her, due in part to the fact that his head is a bit bigger than average (they sonogrammed it and there's no problem-he just takes after his father). So he has a tough time getting into a proper crawling posture without tilting forward precipitously, and when I don't notice it fast enough, we have a bonk incident. And then an "oh god my ears" incident.
Besides, he's decided he'll invent his own way of getting around, which is why I said that about being really good at expressing himself. Every now and then, when he's in a spot he doesn't like, he'll look straight at me and say, "Ub." Or sometimes, "Ahb." Or, "Ubba."
But now and then it really sounds like, "Up." And he pretty clearly wants to communicate, "I wish to be elsewhere, please assist me, giant friendly-but-not-too-bright person." So, I don't know if he's actually started talking-but he clearly thinks he has.
Thanks for the congratulations! My sleep is erratic, but the memories are excellent.
Thank you, and thank you again on behalf of my girl! She is soooo happy to finally be on the go, and the look of happy triumph on her face when she managed to come into the room after me . . . it was wonderful.
My boy may not be moving quite as fast (literally, anyway) but he's a fun-loving little guy with way more energy than you'd think could fit into someone that small. He really wants to be running around the yard right now (another urge that I expect to stay with him).
Of course, I may find myself known as the Mommy of the Amazing Streaking Toddler when he's three or so. But I think people will be more amused than annoyed, because, really, who could stay annoyed at that smile?
