Okay, what do you get when you mix old-fashioned fairy tales, modern world drama, and sizzling femslashy chemistry? That'd be Once upon a Time, a new ABC show that premiered a few weeks ago. I first read thejollyape's spot-on essay regarding the femslash, and after watching the episodes aired thus far, I have to conclude that this is one of the most ( Read more... )

I am in love with this show. The level of my love for it is insane. And I'm shipping Snow White and Prince Charming so hard and can only sit here wondering WHY IS THIS HAPPENING IT'S ONLY BEEN THREE EPISODES OH MY GOD.

OMG SNOW WHITE AND PRINCE CHARMING ARE ADORBS. ♥ I'm totally shipping them and actually shouted "No!" out loud when his 'wife' appeared at the hospital.

Honey, all of this is absolutely true, but you forgot to mention the Evil Queen and Snow White's daughter already share a child. I mean really, they're spelling it out for us.

It's like Sam & Janet all over again - minus the fact that Emma and Evil Queen "hate" each other. :p

Pssst! I'd love an icon of the here's-an-apple-for-you scene. <3

Exactly. We can totally either ignore the fact that they "hate" each other, or we can love it and cheer for angry!sex.

Your 'pssst!' has been noted.

AW YAYYY you're on the Once Upon a Time bandwagon too! Femslash aside, I too love modern retellings of fairytales, so this is right up my alley and, like you said, it's a female-led show were not one, not two, but THREE strong, complex female characters drive the action. WHERE ELSE DO YOU SEE THAT?? And yeah, I suppose JMo in a tank top is not so bad either. :P Who knew getting out of the blandness of Cameron of House could do wonders for her? UNF.

The fact that I wanted to be Robin Hood growing up (after seeing the Disney version) probably has something to do with my fairytale fascination, heh. But yeah, this show is just perfect for people like us! And being female-led? MAJOR BONUS POINTS.
