This story is based on a real event and takes place in a real place. Peanut Falls are part of several hiking trails at the Palisades in New Jersey/New York. Since this story, the trail has been rebuilt. I recently hiked there last time I visited home. Here is a picture I took

The year that Jeremy and I were both CITS was probably my favorite ever summer of all the summers of camp I went to when I was younger. In the NJ/NY/CT area, camps are a huge thing. I started going to day camp with I was 3 and either went to or worked at camps until I graduated college.

Our daughter loved camp and started at a very early age, but not as young as you. She was a CIT as well, for Girl Scouts.

I'm glad your daughter loved camp as much as I did :) I think sending kids to camp is such a wonderful thing and it helps them gain so much. If my husband and I could have kids, I was always planning on sending them to camp too :)
