when I saw Requiem for a Dream for the first time, I cried beause yeah it was a sad story. But now whenever I watch it, it's more like I'm crying because I'm putting myself in the situation and crying because I'm thinking about how it would be if this was happening to James and I. (if you haven't seen the movie, this might not make sense, but do see it, it's really good)
but yeah, I totally know how you feel about reading/writing effecting you emotionally. I don't read a lot, but movies (especially dramas) always make me think a lot about how it would be if I was in the situation (like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind.. haha I cried the first time I saw that too).
