Phew!
Saturday afternoon was the climate march. Met an OKC person who was interested in attending the rally. Ended up eating dim sum in China Town and only saw the last 20 minutes of the rally, oops :o)
Saturday evening met (in alphabetical order)
alextiefling,
ariiadne and
friend_of_tofu to see the Dresden Dolls. Whooo it was a magical evening, it felt more like a festival than a gig with some awesomely spectacular performances. If I had taken pictures from my gigging days of old, they would have consisted of people with glow sticks and musicians standing behind keyboards. Since meeting
friend_of_tofu I'm taking photos that are far more interesting than I could have ever imagined... it's all good :D
The picnic is dead, long live the picnic Got a mail from the picnic list saying Sunday would be the last Parliament Square picnic. Not entirely sure what happened, but certainly falling numbers was a big part of it. A couple of weeks ago there was only Brian and myself in the square. Granted it was pouring with rain which never stopped and was probably one of the most miserable Sunday afternoons I've had. This Sunday the weather was sunny, but cold. Thought some might have turned up to farewell the picnic, but not a single soul (apart from Brain's posse). Was a good afternoon tho, met some cool new people... one passer-by was an old German woman, she was with her son who acted as interperter. She had been in prison in Germany for protesting against Polaris... nuff respect eh!
