Trouble down under

Okay, I'm hearing that people are not finding the book in Australia, with a few exceptions, so I wanted to check up and see how that's going. I haven't heard back about it from my end yet, but what it sounds like to me is that the books just haven't arrived yet (although I'm a little disturbed that some of these stores don't even seem to know that ( Read more... )

I pre-ordered through amazon.co.uk. Had no trouble arriving. (Boston area, MA, USA)

I live in New Zealand and I've been searching Australian online bookshops in hope being able to order from there (as opposed to the UK which costs an arm and a leg in shipping) but most of them don't seem to have it and some refer me to Amazon UK.

Albeit I DID find it available to order on the Australian publisher's website. It seems they're being sold for Australian$25. Can't find what the shipping cost is.

I went around on the bookshops on the second of November (the first was a public holiday - see my devotion!), but only one shop had actually heard of it - Dymock's. They ordered it in for me then, but it's been over a week now and they still haven't got it. It's costing about $25 as allova said, and I've had to pay a $5 deposit, but I want it NOOOOOW! *dances like a three-year-old* *realises this looks rather stupid for someone in their late-20s*

Ah, of course. The one bookstore I didn't make it to on my quest.

What was I thinking? I should be out asking all the bookshops to order it in! Silly me! Well I'm heading off to a couple of big book shops today so I'll make a few enquiries along the lines of 'I love this book. Get it. Get it now!'

One of them also has online shopping. So if they get the book in people can start ordering it from there, cut down on shipping from Amazon. Help out the booksellers etc.

Aww, don't worry about it--y'all aren't my minions or flying monkeys or whatever. But definitely let me have the link to the local seller with the online shopping--the shipping expenses are what I feel the worst about.

Hehe, flying monkeys. I want all my friends to get the book too. That way I wont be randomly sprouting quotes which no one understands ^-^

The site is www.readings.com.au They're usually pretty good, they've ordered in dvds from America for me before, so I doubt this book'll be a trouble.

I went to every jolly bookstore in the Illawarra district (South of Sydney, NSW) and couldn't find it. I was just told that I had to wait for it to be shipped in if I wanted to order it through that bookstore (I went to 'Angus and Robertson' and 'Dymocks' and other boring bookstores.) Four to six weeks before I could get it.

Wah.
