Long story short: You can currently buy the book, Movies in Fifteen Minutes, for about $11 (US) at amazon.co.uk. You cannot currently buy the book in North ( Read more... )

By the way, V in 15 minutes was NOT the right thing for me to read at work. I was snerking up a storm...and my coworkers kept giving me weird looks...

I bought the book, though, and am loving it! I think the Titanic m15m is my fave!

On a personal note, and certainly not needing any specifics, just an idea: Are you making money? I mean, really? It sounds like things are going well for you, I was just wondering if it has been truly lucrative.

I had dreams of becoming an author once. *whimsical sigh*

I'll be honest with you: I made a $10,000 advance. That means I got $4200 in 2004 (upon signing the contract, minus my agent's 15%) and $4200 in 2005 (upon finishing the manuscript). Taxes ate up nearly $400 of that each year. I have not received royalties yet (which is completely normal--no shenanigans there or anything). At this point, the real benefit of having the book published is to have the experience and the exposure, in hopes that it will lead to other books of mine being published, either more parodies or the regular fiction (historical, children's, fantasy, what-have-you) I was writing before this. The kind of money you get at this stage is more like, "Yay, I can pay for roof repairs/vet bills/a semester in grad school now!"
