Hey Girl! Post a picture of your new puppy so those of us who do not reside in your 'hood can experience the cuteness! Please? :)

...if you use them for scientific experimentation.

Cute puppies are great, and I love dogs, but sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do to escape the taxman.

Yeah, taxes that are done! I know the feeling, but not right now. At least, I don't think so. . .

We did our taxes, got our refund, then got an incorrect (and majorly late) 10-99 from Chad's old job. The IRS told us to tell them that they have to give us a new, correct 10-99 showing that we made nothing or it would flag us for income we didn't claim, and we told them that, but they said they have to send us a 10-99 that shows about $300 worth of income because that amount was applied to an in-house debt in 2005, so even though we didn't receive it it counts as income, so we called the IRS and they said that we have to get the new 10-99 and then amend our taxes showing that we made the $300 and that we lost the $300 as a deduction for business, which will cancel it out but will make sure all the paperwork is right and we're not flagged for audit, but the stupid company still hasn't sent the new 10-99. . .

wait, you're bored aren't you?

Anyway, congrats. It really is great. And who's learning German?

Per Kristi, German is spoken by 3% of the known world. We have been talking about learning a new language for a long time. I think it is very "ugly American" to only speak one language when most of the world speaks multiple. I wanted something that I could use - so that ruled out Gaelic. I wanted to actually be interested in it - that rules out French. And no one wanted to learn Spanish. Sooooo - of the European languages, German seems to have won. It's spoken in many countries if not as a first language then as a second. Also apparently there are some parts of Africa and South America where it's spoken. I also am part German on my grandmother's side so it has family history. Also Germany has some of the most amazing castles in the world. Very worth seeing ( ... )
