Well my FT 290R arrived today, and I must say I had heard that these rigs can be deaf, not this one, I've had a look and it hasn't had the front end preamp upgrade done, but it sparkles without !

So now I can play with SSB/USB/LSB/Morse and FM when mobile Should prove fun tomorrow, I wonder if we will be using 2m or 4m tomorrow

The big Quad band HF antenna I have due to problems with the top threads being knackered, I had to shorten the thread length before re-tapping it, so I decided that when mounting it on the mast I would put it so that the top section can have some support from the top of the mast, using some insulators.
