The Odyssey is my current toilet book. I've never read it before but I like this translation by Robert Fagles. Nobody knows anything about Homer except the scholars believe he may have been a blind, illiterate bard. WHAT??

Ahhh, quite a choice of reading material there. Much better than my selection, 'Floor Tiles'. Although the third tile down, second from the right has quite a good tale, I think I need to find something better.

But even still, it seems that Homer was by no means the only blind, illiterate bard. In Japan, there were actual schools(moso biwa sp?) of these people! If I were blind, I think that would be what I would do(at that time period/location).

How would even a blind storyteller work nowadays...? I just do not know...
