This is the day brokenmnemonic was born, the day the world became one good man richer :)

Happy Birthday my dear friend! I wish you to have a wonderful day! Remember how much you are loved and appreciated and to quote a famous song's lyrics - don't worry, be happy! :)

As a matter of fact, I didn't send you anything by mail - I wanted to give you this video as a ( Read more... )

I love the way you picture Anders clearly the first time to match the "tricks we play" - and only then do you start interlacing images of Dee, the alternapartners painted clearly for what they are. I notice that when you use tortured imagery after this, it's all shots of them alone, but interwoven, mixed simulatenously on the screen together; you paint a clear picture of how each tends to suffer alone, despite the presence of those tricks they've made manifest. The shot of Kara in the quarters that shows her flickering out to be replaced with the quarters empty and lifeless is subtle, and perfect. I think that's possibly my favourite paired shot of the vid, sneaked in even as briefly as the two images are ( ... )

Thank you, I was doing my best. :) I think it would be an impermissible luxury to give Anders or Dee more screen time in this vid, because it is all about Lee and Kara and on a big scale in their story Dee and Anders are nothing more than an artificially created shield, a shield they invented to prevent the inevitable, to block the scariest feeling they evoke in each other - the feeling of sacramental connection, total control loss and unpredictable free fall.

I notice that when you use tortured imagery after this, it's all shots of them alone, but interwoven, mixed simulatenously on the screen together; you paint a clear picture of how each tends to suffer alone, despite the presence of those tricks they've made manifest.Yep, it reflects my personal perception of them suffering while being seemingly *not alone ( ... )

The Olympic Carrier tune that follows is downright haunting, strings scraping under a bow like nerves under tension, In some ways, it's an unsettling tune to tie in with the image of Lee and Kara in the brig, but at the same time it's hauntingly evocative - something that can't be ignored, that scours its way along all those primal parts of the mind.

I knew that I was going to use the Olympic Carrier composition from the get-go, in my mind I always associate it powerfully with Pilots and Pilots only; and this exact part of Olympic Carrier where flute is piercing your soul was used several times as background music for Lee and Kara in moments like the well-known “Since I Got Shot?!” moment from TCH. So blame the author’s preferences ;)

It's as strong an edning as this vid could possibly have, one that demands to be watched intently, the change in pace so complete compared to what came before.Well everybody’s welcome to watch intently and live through these seconds with Lee and Kara, because the extended brig scene is one of the most ( ... )

Wow. This was rather stunning. What a look at Kara and Lee through the years! The song was perfect for their tumultuous relationships. I love the freeze frame (I always love your freeze frames) on just the myriad of emotions that play over their faces, like Kara on NC before the labor rally, or Lee looking at her trying not to smile during a briefing. You made me miss them, and miss them HARD.

I appreciate your struggles to make this vid. As one new to vidding, I too, am obsessed with vid bunnies I simply do not have the technical ability to make. Yet. But this vid gives me hope. Hope in my vidding skills to come and hope in our pair here.

The ending credits blew me away. Like a mini vid in itself. I was stunned and loved it. Loved them. Your vids always restore my faith in this ship. Thank you so much for braving to make it and share it with us.

First of all, thanks for watching and leaving such a lovely feedback. Secondly, I'm really glad you liked the vid and the song as well! Hee :D Music means a lot, it's a pity when someone appreciates you work and it's technical side but the music doesn't strike a chord and so the story as whole falls apart for the viewer. Given how much time it took me to make this one (more than evAr :) ), it's very gratifying to be able to finish it the way I like (and yeah, the ending credits were supposed to be somewhat piercing if not downright haunting, I had it planned from the get-go) and have people come and say they really enjoyed the ride, you know.

Your vids always restore my faith in this ship. Really? Well then amen to that. I'm a huge sucker for angst, so I think there's always something sad and ragged about my vids and there are times when I fear it might kill the remnants of priceless optimism with regard to the show for some people ( ... )
