How much wood would a woodchuck chuck

Is lemongrass intended to be eaten? Or is it like bayleaves, flavor additives that you remove before consumption?

I hope it's the latter, because I can't chew wood. Not effectively, at any rate.

No, it's not meant for consumption.

What are you eating anyway, you've got me curious.

I have never effectively eaten lemongrass, so I put it in the bay leaf category.

Lemongrass can be eaten thomasrymour November 25 2003, 13:23:43 UTC
and is a common ingredient in most Thai dishes.

However, the key is, "FRESH" lemongrass - you know, the green tender grass. Not the dried herbal stuff which is best for teas, flavoring for meats, or spices.

Yes, to be used like Bay Leaves when dried.

However, fresh ... go at it ...
salads, pad thai, stir fry, curries, mmmmm ....
now I'm hungry!

It's that woody stuff, right?

I remove it. It's woody.

yep, as mentioned you can eat the fresh stuff. Asian Express makes a good lemongrass chicken dish (stir fried I think). You can also buy a lemongrass paste to marinate stuff in.
