For so many years, I considered myself above the vapid, irrational, "love"-induced behaviors that my peers take part in.

I'm wondering why all of a sudden that's changed. I mean there are the obvious reasons, but you'd think I'd be able to keep my head about me none the less.

That's certainly pleasant. I've been confronted by a few teachers lately because of my dropping marks, though they have seemed to back off quite a bit since my father died...

I wouldn't worry about it if I were you. Snape is just a nasty person. Not so much you can do about that.

Pleasant's one word for it. Irritating is another. Being reminded of marks just killed any remainder of a good mood I might have had this weekend.

Irritating works as well. It can be a huge nuisance.

I should be fine. Funeral is tomorrow I should be somewhat concerned about missing classes for a day, but I just can't bring myself to care. Thanks for your concern!

Potions is one of my worst subjects (typical, I know, I know), but I seriously doubt that a tutor would help, as my issues are with paying attention in class and making myself do the work.

You think that's bad? You should hear some of the things Snape has said to me in the past. He's just a bitter, twisted old git with nothing better to do though - just ignore him :) Sorry to hear that your marks are dropping though - still, we've got a reasonable amount of time before the N.E.W.Ts, so hopefully you'll be able to pull them up before then.

Try putting it into a context of something that would interest you. It helps some people. The concept of potions is still mostly the same for everyone.

And you're right, he so need a good fuck. It would losen him a bit.
