Paradoxically, or perhaps ironically, I can't go to sewing tonight because I have too much sewing to do.

And here I was planning to bring the combs so you can see what I am doing. Oh well. Next week. I am looking forward to seeing your outfit.

Ok, ok. I'll come tonight. I'll be a little late cause I have to run home and walk the dog first. Will you guys help me rip the pieces for my undertunic?

You do not have to come if you do not have time. I would rather have you finish your clothes. My stuff can wait until later.

What do you mean by "rip the pieces"?

No no no. I want to come. Maybe I can get the pieces ripped and pinned here today and I can finish the trim on the black tunic at Eilis'.

As to your second question, I learned a long long time ago that cotton and linen (and most silk) rips way straighter than I could ever cut it and, boy-Viking garb being mostly rectangles, the only things I ever cut are the gussets and gores. Everything else gets ripped. AND if I take a moent to collect some threads from the ravelled edges then I have a bunch of perfectly colored thread for the hand sewing parts.
