Speaking of linen, I used to know a trick to soften it faster when you wash it the first couple of times and I can't for the life of me remember what it is... Jeans in the wash with it? Gravel? Bricks? Babies? Anyone? Anyone? Beuller?

A while ago I got a bunch of linen from www.fabrics_store.com . It was great, thick, beautiful stuff but, when I took it to a friends house to wash it, so much long came of it that it plugged her drain and flooded her garage (much to my horrified dismay). We won't even talk about the lint in the dryer.

Paradoxically, or perhaps ironically, I can't go to sewing tonight because I have too much sewing to do.

Pretty much what I expected. The kids were pretty good? The Rock, or whatever we are supposed to call him now that he's a "serious actor", was pretty bad. All in all, as a kids action flick, I liked it.

I am absurdly excited to be going to see "Race to Witch Mountain" with moviebears. I loved these films as a kid...

So here's the tunic at this point. It's black linen edged in this fantastic patterned linen that rockakamille gave me for my bday last year.

Managed to pack the babies into the car and run to my house to grab the sewing stuff. The tunic is now pinned to within an inch of it life. Maybe I'll look pretty on Saturday after all. Still have the undertunic to build, but thats a matter of a couple of hours.

Dammit! I left my pins at home so I can't do the last part of my new tunic for this weekend! It's the trim on the bottom hem so it's the most obvious so I really can't afford to freehand it.

Dammit!
