I'm so glad you enjoyed the pictures! I took TONS and stole most of these from my friend's online album. When I get all of mine uploaded, I'll post the link to the album in my journal so you can see all of the pics I shot, if you're interested.
The accident truly was the scariest moment of my life and made even scarier because we all knew it was coming. My colleagues and I were incredibly lucky and blessed to walk away with minor injuries and I'm so thankful our driver is going to be ok!!!
I'm all, "OMG I'm so glad you're okay" but also, "Wow. Your photos are amazing." But mostly I'm glad you're okay. How terrifying to go through that so far from home.
Thanks, J. I've got so many more pictures to upload, but when I see them all and the captioning I want to do, it's overwhelming! I'm hoping to get most of it done this weekend and will post the link to the full album so you can check them out if you'd like.
It was terribly frightening to go through all of that in a foreign country, but especially one that was so far away. Our colleagues took great care of us and a car of strangers stopped and abandoned their plans to sight-see so we all had somewhere to sit that was out of the crowd and traffic. However, I can tell you I was never so happy and relieved to get back to the US!
It's a really nice hotel! The restaurants in it were pretty good, too. The only bad thing was that even though it was only about 15 kilometers from our office, it took us at least an hour to travel from the hotel to our office each morning because of traffic!
Thanks, Cat! It was a terribly scary experience and we're all really lucky in that nothing more serious happened to the 4 of us riding in the back 2 rows. None of us had seat belts on (not widely used and sometimes, not even available), so if the car had rolled or flipped, things would've been really bad.
