Well isn't that just ducky. The two crucial software programs I use at work are non-functional and/or suddenly nonexistant on my computer. Just mine. So I'm waiting for the IT monkeys to come by and fix me. I kinda suspect that they're jumping the gun on my departure and dismantling my computer profile now. 1. I write software --- I spend most of my time fixing bugs or adding features, usually things introduced by other people's code-changes, some by stupid coding. -- I often build new test or analysis tools from scratch and very infrequently do new code for a major feature. I'm the internal expert for things Unix and Perl.

2. I guess I've been here 2.5 years now, started out as a 6 month contract gig.

3. We have some pretty bright people, mostly enjoyable to work / interact with. On the down side there are some people with serious attitude issues, our 'architects' are supremely arrogant and don't have much to be arrogant about.

4. Mountaineering/climbing guide would be great, Bicycle mechanic, maybe part time ptogrammer. I can't afforde right now to take even a small cut in pay but over the longer haul I'm pretty sick of working for tech corporations.

1) [at the moment] Bum. Sleep late, make coffee, read books/magazines/LJ, walk, go to the gym, hang out with friends, pet cat, cook, eat, do chores.

2) Got fired. I didn't have to apply to be a bum, or send in a resume, or anything like that.

3) At the moment, yes. But I know I can't keep it forever.

4) Part-time therapist (individual and group), part-time activist, occasional clinical supervisor and instructor.
