Good news/bad news

Well, the good news is that I have a new grandchild!  The bad news is that said child is being cared for by someone who is seriously mentally disturbed, namely my daughter-in-law, who disdains to clean, cook, shop, work, drive, or anything else that might be called adult activity, leaving all such tedious tasks to my disabled son.  More to follow, ( Read more... )

Yay on the good of the grand-daughter! And the light up keyboard! (which should at least make you smile when you look at it)

Boo on the bad bits of life *boo-hiss* You know, there was this theory that was floated to me during my Very Bad Year that God/Fate/Whatever only tests you with as much as it/they think you can handle. My response was "stop having so much faith in me!"

For the shoulder -- are you taking a glucosamine/chondroitin/MSM supplement? If not, go ye forth and get some today. It's not an instant fix, but it helps with soft tissue and joint capsule issues. Add 1000mg Vitamin C to that, and it's a good, safe, helpful thing that I've used for years.

And then, when it's all too much, and when you need to vent and scream and rail against it all, remember that we're here to listen.

I've taken the supplements and the vitamins for years, and believe they help a little. I tried acupuncture, too and it helped a little. Getting old is a bitch. :/

I've also done a fair amount of 'venting' lately (my poor spouse takes the brunt of it). I'm not the venting type, but the loss of the music was the worst of it all, like severing a limb. I appreciate having friends who will listen. :)

Oh, and I found the draft of my last chapter of Origins. I had sent it in a file to my office email. It's the only piece of unpublished writing I have, so maybe it will inspire me to get back to that story.

I found a draft of my next chapter of Origins in a file I had sent to my office email addy. I mostly hate losing all my unpublished stuff, the drafts, the snippets, story ideas, etc. - the miscellany that I had never shown to anyone. C'est la vie, tho. Sometimes, it feels like a Higher Power is trying to tell you something. :)
