This morning I came across the following news blurb:

“Nagasaki’s mayor was shot dead by a Yakuza boss angry at damage to a car by a construction pothole.”

I immediately decided it was update-worthy. However upon looking into it a little bit further, it turns out not to be quite as bad-ass as I initially thought.

Still, who does that?

I've spent hundreds of hours with Japanese movies, and I've learned nothing if not that yakuza could kill someone in a way, way cooler manner than that.

Oh, I don't doubt that, but is that guy in the television a noteworthy politician? He's probably just an electronics store clerk who looked at some gangster's woman the wrong way.
