I've been hearing from a lot of people that 2009 has been an awful year and they can't wait for it to be over. This includes some people on my friends list. This morning I came across the following news blurb:

“Nagasaki’s mayor was shot dead by a Yakuza boss angry at damage to a car by a construction pothole.”

I immediately decided it was update-worthy. However upon looking into it a little bit further, it turns out not to be quite as bad-ass as I initially thought.
