I always have a list in the back of my head of RPGs I'd like to do. With most of them, I lose interest, or my interests evolve, before I can make time or find a group that's willing to go with it, so the games I wind up running are just a fraction of the whole list... not always my first choice, but whatever is most viable for whatever reasons.

NBC is trying to make good news out of... well, a sad fact. According to this article, "Viewers were reportedly just as engaged by commercials seen in fast-forward mode as they were in a normal-speed episode of NBC's Heroes.... Joellen and I went to a birthing class last night, offered by our OB/GYN clinic. We heard a lot of anecdotes, but this one stuck out in my mind.

It occurred to me today that the lyrics to "The Boys of Summer" are much more entertaining if you imagine that the speaker is a Quasimodo-like figure in a dank basement, suffering from heliophobia and clipping pictures out of a Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue with a pair of pinking shears. And he "sings" the song in a hoarse whisper.

Joellen and I have been advised that wee Riley will likely be compelled to be born the week of July 4th; we'll know a bit more after our ultrasound next week. We're attending an out-of-town graduation between now and then so, counting this weekend (which is already mostly over), we have three weekends left before the Big Day.

I ran across an interesting bit about a hauntingly familiar event (mostly it's the fallout that is familiar) I'd never heard of, a 1920 terrorist attack in New York City.
A bit of followup reading on Wikipedia led me to the Bath School disaster, the deadliest mass murder in a school in U.S. history... in 1927.
