Crate & Barrel's Pants are On Fire!!

I bought a lovely hutch for my kitchen there at the end of August. Salesperson told me there were 3 units in the warehouse, so I could expect delivery sometime this week. So I spent a chunk of last weekend ripping out the existing cabinets in my kitchen that the new hutch will replace. Since it's Wednesday and I haven't heard from them, I thought I ( Read more... )

I think painting is still a ways off. I want to get a new sink cabinet built first (and get a new sink installed). And maybe even replace the counters first. I figured they could just move the hutch when it came time to paint, but maybe I'll get the other stuff done before the hutch even arrives. We'll see how ambitious I get over the next 2 months. My biggest annoyance is that I had to move all my everyday dishes into the built-in hutch in the dining room and it's a bother to have to pop out there every time I need a bowl for my cereal.

I'd call the manager of the store you bought it at, the clerk number should be on the reciept, explain what happened and complain very loudly until he OR she figures out a way to comp you for your "grrr". Usually, they might figure something out to smooth your pain, if they do nothing, then explain how C&B is going to get a lot of free bad advertising to ALL your LJ and FB peeps.

This and rustmon's video idea is brilliant. Time for a YouTube acct?

As a great example, one YT user explained to the world that United Breaks Guitars.

Definitely call the store manager and complain. That kind of treatment shows a lack of respect for all customers or a total incompetence (the kind of incompetence that sells you an item that is discontinued and never tells you).

If the store manager doesn't help you, go up to the district manager (especially because if the store really wanted to they could probably purchase/exchange the item from/with a nearby C&B store, but it's probably a bit more hassle than just getting it shipped from the warehouse on a regular schedule).

The entire store, and especially the store manager, gets in trouble if you take a complaint to the district manager. Then the district manager checks the entire store out for any other problems, usually.

They are the suck and I would definitely register a complaint (and it's too damn early in the morning, because I think you should send them a video with you complaining in a snivelly voice showing them your kitchen....with wombats....)
