It's a blargh kinda day. There's nothing particularly bad about it, but it's that ugly kind of cloudy out, where the light isn't quite enough to see by and yet turning on a lamp would be silly. I forgot to mention it earlier (curse you, DDoS!), but I did see Captain America on its premiere weekend. I was really, really dreading it, especially after the marathon of bad movies I've subjected myself to this year. I've been attempting to keep up in exercise for the first time in perhaps ever. I haven't been in Tae Kwon Do for a good three years and I don't have to walk much in the summer, so I've had nothing to keep me active. Anime Midwest!
I went to my first non-ACen anime con last weekend. It was in the suburbs, which I normally couldn't reach, but a friend with a car was interested in going and the price was really cheap for the whole weekend. I neglected to mention it, but I saw Cars 2 recently. The commercials looked atrocious, but it's Pixar; they can pull gold out of garbage. Besides which, I was one of the few people above the age of ten that actually liked the first movie. It was predictable (and apparently a ripoff of Doc Hollywood), but it was self-aware of that. Which brings up the question, where the heck am I going after college?
Don't get me wrong, I love living in the city, but sometimes when I go back to Iowa I really miss the country. Chicago has a lot of green for a city of its size, but there still aren't hilly forests across the street from the shopping center.
