That is lovely, sis. Yay for your first foray into OCs -- and such fine ones they are, too ;-)

Dorsai! ZOMG! This was fascinating, and hot. I got a little confused around the time that Conrad popped up, but then (I think) I figured out what was going on.

Nobody's writing Dorsai any more, but I've always been fascinated by the pilots (and frustrated by the fact that we hear NOTHING about them...).

So, tell me what you think happened...

Conrad was doing something to Robert's brain while they had sex to make him remember/relive having sex with Erik?

Mmm, close, but no banana.

Pilots have a tendency towards the crazy, and the neural por surgery sometimes makes that a bit worse. Robert can work, but it's hard on his mental state (not as hard as not working would be, though). So when he's had a hard job, he gets self-destructive.

They have an agreement to use fantasy play to get his self-destructive impulses out in a way that means he doesn't actually come to any harm (and gets the really intense sensations he needs in order to work out whatever the fuck it is he's working out). Conrad chose the name Erik because he knew Robert would associate it with happiness and safety.

So no, no physical rewiring of the brain going on (the electrical stuff is Robert's mind feeling the bond betwen them), but a lot of psychological woo-woo.

(I'll get better at making this stuff clearer, I promise.)
