Interesting... and a bit ranty

So this year has been one of groups and people being let go from Ren Fest. and I keep seeing the same thing over and over, that "...have heard that MN in particular can be really hard on it's cast." or that "alot of things that mnrf does to actors is unfair." Or "They treat the actors very badly

I can tell you from personal experience that they DO treat their actors very badly. I still love the place, but not enough to be treated that way.

Anyone who kisses up to the established "cool kids club" tends to get by without being subject to a bunch of bullshit, so maybe that's why you're not experiencing the horribly unprofessional management side of things, but it's true, it's real and it's the reason I won't be working there.

Having worked in the entertainment business on a lower level, as well as on staff in the costume shop for fest, I can also tell you that they absolutely DO NOT run that place like a business. And certainly not in the manner of a successful business.

Hope you and the rest of my favorite people will be allowed to stay on cast! ;)

I don't work at the faire. I've only gone a few times in the past many years. That being said, I have heard some things that amaze me, and make me not want to support the owner

Marmot I cannot comment on the pay for camping since I do not know about that, BUT the pass the hat has not been removed you simply have to specify that you want it in your contract. My groups have hat pass in our contracts.

I have heard of others that were asked and denied, but it's not firsthand knowledge.
