As the Doc regenerates, both Rose and Donna grab him and are combined with him (partially or completely), thus making him somehow into a three-for-the-price-of-one entity.

Strange what the mind comes up with when it should be going bye-byes.

My sons (9 and 10) were watching with me and I suggested my theory - that the Doctor regenerates into one of the Top Gear presenters: either Jeremy Clarkson (who would dispense with the Sonic Screwdriver in favour of a good stout hammer), James May (likewise, but a decent set of spanners) or Richard Hammond (although not sure what his tool-of-choice would be....).
Either that or we have the first female doctor - in the form of either Jamie Murray (her off Hustle) or Gwen from Torchwood! ;o)
