Updateyness

Well, I've been nudged by a pal, and I admit it's been a while since I updated, so here goes:

Current status: After being awake from 3am to 5am with blasted IBS (ongoing), I'm now in rather a lot of pain because I seem to have wrenched my right hip and am only capable of staggering round the flat grabbing onto passing bits of furniture. I don't ( Read more... )

It looks good indeed.
I have IBS and a few months ago I ran out of my usual cold drink of ginger ale.
I had Coke, not the diet one,and put a bit of sugar in to take out the fizz. My relationship with the toilet has become more distant over the last couple of months.
Maybe coincidence or in my head, but I'm still drinking the Coke

I was doing really well up until 2-3 weeks ago, and now it's bugging me again. I'm really annoyed, as I thought I had it beaten into quiescence and had barely needed any Loperamide. Now it's back to abnormal again...

It's so disheartening isn't it.
Sometimes I feel truly cursed.

Great to hear from you - Great news about the flat progress. Curses to the IBS and the hip!

Bathroom looks gorgeous.

Hi

Apologies for nudging you and then not responding to the post! Your bathroom looks great, and sounds like an exiting time with all the improvements going on - just like Homes Under The Hammer! (sorry, too much Daytime TV....)

Sad to hear you're in so much pain :o(

I'm on the mend - now have a two-week sick note instead of four, and went in to see my line manager (she has been really understanding and supportive) and now the Occupational Health ball has started rolling. Although it seems there is a 6-8 week waiting list for a consultation with them! Typical Civil Service I suppose....!

It really is very Homes Under The Hammer indeed!! I'm very excited about the whole thing, though a bit scared too, because it's a big project and I can't be there as much as I'd like.
The back/hip pain is improving gradually, and I hope (?) to be back at work on Thursday, if all goes well. Some friends have helped by swapping my mattress for the slightly softer one on the spare bed, so that I'm not lying on such an unforgiving surface at night. It's always worse in the morning than it is by nightfall, but it's seemingly not as bad as it was...and I'm not hitting the painkillers as much.
I'm glad that you seem to be on the mend too. Don't let yourself get rushed back, either. The Occ Health referral is well worth doing. I had one for the IBS side of things and have been granted a bit of leeway!
