I went to see my new flat today, to meet up with my proposed plumber and my handy man. That done, I took some photos of the place "pre-op" as t'were:

I am, in theory, part of the way through buying a new (to me) flat. It's about a mile away from my current place, has three bedrooms, lifts to all floors, a balcony, live-in concierge and corking views. This has been rumbling on since November. I think - and I may be wrong - that I've just been chatted up by the supervisor from  Yorkshire Water's dig-it-up-and-stare-at-stuff team.  He was fascinated by me having a pierced nose...and got quite chatty.  Asked me which pubs I go to...
Even though he was a bit not-my-type, it's done the fragile ego a power of good.

Staring at my online statement and a quick (20 minutes on hold...) call to my bank reveals that some bastard has had over £800 out of my current account since July 4th, and has probably done dubious things to my overdraft.  So, old card stopped, new card on its way to me.  I don't know what made me check my account at midnight on a Saturday, other ( Read more... )
