My Mum
My little Ma died at 6.00am GMT today.
Her last couple of weeks have been very tough and pretty hellish, and she told Estela two days ago that she didn't want to carry on any longer. She never really recovered from the operation and it became obvious that the cancer was spreading. A scan done on Monday revealed that her internal organs were " ( Read more... ) -

A member of staff that I've rarely seen so far was standing next to my desk today, checking the diary, when she noticed my wallpaper of Teasle (the big ginger one). She then noticed the photo of Dave on my desk and I could tell her brain was working overtime because she had that "stunned mullet" look that people get while the leetle grey cells are ( Read more... ) -

International Madcatwoman of Mystery!
It looks as though I'm going to Spain in May either to visit the Aged P (if she's still alive) or sort out lawyer/apartment crap (if she isn't). I can't book any earlier - passport, cat sitters etc.
Flights from Leeds-Bradford to Alicante and back are now booked (6am take off for the outward journey, dammit, so 4am check-in), and I have been able ( Read more... ) -

Actual conversation has taken place!
I thought I'd phone Estela on her mobile in case she was out and about, and she was at the hospital with me Mammy. Turns out the patient is rallying well. Out of the ICU and back into her room this morning, with colour in her cheeks and her teef back in etc. She'd just been having ( Read more... ) -

Update
Just this minute had a phone call from Estela.
My Ma is having her operation right now. It was scheduled for next week but has been brought forward as an emergency because Estela says the tumour was collapsing the stomach.
I don't know if she's strong enough for this yet. -
