Today I went to church then had some Easter lunch at the Chandler's. Nikki and I wore white dresses and people told us we looked like angels or Easter bunnies. At the Chandler's we watched a horrible movie starring Ted Dansen called Loch Ness. It was pitiful, but funny. Then we played kickball in the park. Nikki, Lindsay, and I took Hannah to the Edinburgh Zoo today. It was cool, but I always feel sorry for the animals. They had some eagles in a tiny cage where they could barely fly. My mom and her sister came to visit me this week. We went to Ocean Terminal, a big mall, and the Royal Botanical Gardens. Then we went to a quiz night and heard some live music at a different pub. It was all lots and lots of fun and now I think I will be homesick ( Read more... )

I didn't do much this weekend because I still can't breathe through my nose. But I went to church yesterday. And last night I went to a different church to hear a classical orchestra concert. Last night was one of the best things I've done here. We went to a ceilidh (pronounced kay-lee) with our Scottish Culture and Society class. It's like square dancing, waltzing, and line dancing all wrapped up into one. And we danced to bagpipes and traditional Scottish music. Today my friend Lindsay and I went to Stirling. We took a train, and it was about half an hour away. We went mainly to see the William Wallace Monument, but they had a power outage and we couldn't go up in it. That was lame. But then we went to the castle and an old jail and graveyard.
