After all you've gone through I can imagine it's a big and scary step to take.. Getting married again and againn setting yourself up for all that trouble possibly. You already indeed live together, do things together and have a good life. Marriage itself won't change anything to that life - or at least doesn't have to I feel. It just adds something to this life you already have. Non-romantical stuff like tax benefits for instance, and for me it also added to the feelings of security I already had in my relationship

I was laid off from my job in June and I think you know what it's like in the U.S. No job = no health care insurance.
Richard and I talked about this and we came to the conclusion that not having health care was a serious problem. When I got the letter saying my job was gone, we quickly made plans and within two weeks we got married. Surprise! :)
As it turns out, we're both doing fine and actually nothing has changed in our relationship. So all is well.
Oh. Forgot to mention that if someone here has health insurance his/her spouse can be included in that health insurance. That's why we needed to get married. (not sure that was clear in my first response)
