i think once you've been homesick for five months you can reasonably start to think that maybe you don't just have bad luck meeting people, maybe there are just a lot of noncommital people where you live. if i was in a worse mood i would've written "dicks" there instead of "noncommital people." i'm just sayin.

give it one more month. during my brief stay outside arizona, i found i was just starting to really feel comfortable after six months... and in that time i'd say i only managed to make six friends, three of whom were real friends, three of whom i could call to go out at night with, but couldn't really depend on.

and you are much, much nicer/friendlier than i am (well, most people are)... i can't imagine you having bad luck meeting people.

man, i switched flights in chicago today on my way back to tucson and i almost missed my 2nd flight because my 1st was so late.. i kind of hoped i would get overnighted there so we could hang out. alas.. hopefully march, i'll let you know.
